Biblical Principles Daily Devotionals Day 45

Why I Believe What I Believe

Day 45
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
God IS. All throughout the process God brought plagues to reveal to all the LORD He is GOD.  This is not only the first commandment but also a statement of fact.  The LORD is the only true GOD and there are no others.  So we can not actually have another god before Him as they do not exist.

Exodus 20:2-3 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.

The Commandments are not about do’s and don’ts but a love for the Lord and love for others. The law is not about offerings and sacrifices.  We serve the Lord because of who He is.

Mark 12:29-33 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

Biblical Principles Daily Devotionals Day 44

Why I Believe What I Believe

Day 44
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:

God keeps his promises even if it takes generations.
Exodus 17:13-16 And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:
For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.
Esther 9:24-25 tells of Haman the last of the Amalekites via the Agagits some one thousand years later being destroyed.

God’s timing during troubles is His mercy and grace at work not the opposite.  Our thought process should always be focused on the souls of those around us not the circumstances.
2Peter 3:8-9 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Biblical Principles Daily Devotionals Day 43

Why I Believe What I Believe

Day 43
Biblical Principle-Absolute truth from God's Word:
Our response to God’s provision reveals whether or not we are walking in His commandments.  (Love God, Love Others)  Matthew 22:37-40

Exodus 16:4-5Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.
Exodus 16:27-28 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.
And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?

God has given us provision. Are we praising God for it?  Are we using it to help others.  We trust God for our daily bread; not to consume it for ourselves but to get abundance for the day to help others.  We trust God when we no there will be no provision for the next day He provides enough today for tomorrow.

2Co 8:13-15 For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:
But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.
