Biblical Principles Daily Devotionals Day 31

Why I Believe What I Believe

Day 31
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
1Co 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
A good exercise to do it to find all the practical things you do eat day and make sure there is a Biblical principle to back it.   Why do you do what you do?  We should have a Biblical reason why we do what we do.  The distinction needs to be understood between what is a Biblical principle that should never be violated, and the practical way we try to accomplish these principles which is our practical.   Today list some basic things you do everyday and see if there is a Biblical reason for doing it.  I will give some examples.

  1. Get out of bed each morning
  2. Eat breakfast
  3. Get dressed for work
  4. Go to work
  5. Do the job that is given to me by those in authority over me
These are some basic things we do each day; there are many others that you may do.  List 10 and ask the question: Is there a Biblical reason why I do these things?

Biblical Principles Daily Devotionals Day 30

Why I Believe What I Believe

Day 30
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
God has a place for us.  The story of Joseph gives us the map to get there.  From an early age listen to God when he speaks. ( the dreams of Joseph/ the Scriptures for us)  Obey the truth no matter the consequences. ( visit brothers for his father, be an obedient servant to Potiphar in spite of his wife)  When accused wrongfully serve where you are ( In prison he served the Lord)  When exalted stay humble.

Gen 50:19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
Gen 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.

What does your day look like today?  How are you going to react?  Are you heading to the place where God wants you?

Pro 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Biblical Principles Daily Devotionals Day 29

Why I Believe What I Believe

Day 29
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
No matter where we are, we should not forget where the fulfillment of God’s promises are.  The land of promise was more than a location to live but a place of abundant life. Joseph knew that God’s provision was not in the wealth of the world in Egypt.
Gen 50:24 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
Gen 50:25 And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.
Heb 11:22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.

Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.

The victorious Christian life is found in the promise land of a surrendered life. When we surrender and let God fight and win the battles we prosper.
