Day 122

Day122:
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
God always provided for His children. This provision is always exactly what is needed.  Manna was great because it was what the people needed at the time but more was now needed when they cross the Jordan River.  Both are provided by the Lord but the difference is based upon where the children of Israel were in their walk.  Before they walked in the wilderness of judgment to knock off the past in Egypt (the world), after was their walk in the promise land of victory in Christ.  (milk-meat)

Joshua 5:10-12 And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho.
And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and parched corn in the selfsame day.
And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.

Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.

Where are you walking, in the wilderness fighting off the flesh and the world or walking by faith in victory?   If you are still looking for someone at church to feed you, then you are still in the wilderness.  If you are reaching out to feed someone else as a teacher then you are walking in the promise land of victorious living.

1Corninthians 3:1-3 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

Hebrews 5:12-14 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Day 121

Day 121
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
The Lord wants us to set up landmark memorials.  These memorials are not intended to talk about the “good ol’ days”   These landmarks are not to celebrate heroes of the past.  These landmarks are intended so that we can teach the next generation how great the Lord is today for them.  The Lord is not a lord of the past but always of the present.

Joshua 4:1-7 And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Jordan, that the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,
Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,
And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.
Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man:
And Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan, and take you up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel:
That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?
Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.

God is God of the living.  This includes those who have died physically in Him as seen in this passage.  The truth here also shows that God is alive and is our God today as He was to them and is to them today.  Stop looking back… look up and forward.

Mark 12:26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
Mark 12:27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

Day 120

Day 120
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
Sometimes the Lord asks us to step out by faith first then we watch the Lord do the work.  This story is a practical application to this truth.  The Lord would not remove the obstruction of the Jordan River until they start walking through the water to get to the promise land.
Joshua 3:7-13 And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.
And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the water of Jordan, ye shall stand still in Jordan.
And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God.
And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.
Behold, the ark of the covenant of the LORD of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan.
Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man.
And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the LORD of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.

When we are making decisions in life we must do so with confidence because we are walking by faith.  Faith is simply believing that what God says is true and being obedient.  Faith is not leaping out into the dark with no understanding what is on the other side.  The children of Israel knew what was on the other side of the Jordan,  It was the task of getting there that called for faith in stepping into the water before the Lord would do great things of removing the water.

Hebrews 10:35-39 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Day 119

Day 119
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
Today we are to set our selves apart from the world and set ourselves to the Lord.  Tomorrow the Lord will do wonders.  If we wait for the Lord to do wonders before we decide to set our selves apart we will never see the Lord do wonders.

Joshua 3:5 And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the LORD will do wonders among you.

Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.

The idea given in this verse is all about knowing that the Lord provides all.  The provision from the Lord includes whether or not we will even be here tomorrow.  Therefore we should not be concerned about tomorrow as we are not promised another day.  In the event we will be here tomorrow, we are to seek the Lord, i.e. set ourselves apart for the Lord, and then the Lord will do great things tomorrow.

Matthew 6:31-34 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Day 118

Day 118
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
The truth of who God is gets carried by people we may not be aware of.  Does the world know about our God because of the great things He has done.  Consider this:  if the people had not walked across the Red Sea, had they not fought against the Amorites, what would the reaction would have been when they approached the promise land?

Joshua 2:4 And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were:
Joshua 2:9-13 And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.
And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.
Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the LORD, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token:
And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.

Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.

The entire purpose of following the Lord is so that a light will shine toward the world.  Scriptures teach that when the world sees “our good works” the world can do nothing but to glorify God.   If we hide the light we will not see victory in the promise land of victorious Christian living.

Mat 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
