Day 68

Day 68
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:

Why do we do what we do?  We serve because He is the LORD our God.  Do we need any other reason?  What are we doing that is not commanded by the LORD our God?

Lev 19:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Lev 19:2 Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.
Lev 19:3 Ye shall … I am the LORD your God.
Lev 19:4 Turn ye not …I am the LORD your God.
Lev 19:10 And thou shalt not … I am the LORD your God.
Lev 19:11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
Lev 19:12 And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
Lev 19:14 Thou shalt not …I am the LORD.
Lev 19:16 Thou shalt not … I am the LORD.
Lev 19:18 Thou shalt not…I am the LORD.
Lev 19:25 And in the fifth year shall ye …I am the LORD your God.
Lev 19:28 Ye shall not … I am the LORD.
Lev 19:30 Ye shall keep … I am the LORD.
Lev 19:31 Regard not …I am the LORD your God.
Lev 19:32 Thou shalt …I am the LORD.
Lev 19:34 …thou shalt …I am the LORD your God.
Lev 19:35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.
Lev 19:36 Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.
Lev 19:37 Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD.

Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:

This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.

In all our relationships, we are to serve the Lord and honor Him because of who He is.  We cannot pick and choose when and what we obey.

Col 3:17-25 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

Day 67

Day 67
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:

Being holy is not being “holier than thou”
Being holy is humbly acknowledging who God is and humbly making a distinction between worldly and godly.  Even when the distinction is not between good and evil but between “OK” and “BEST”

Lev 11:44-45 For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

When we focus on the Lord and deny our flesh; holiness becomes visible.  The denying of flesh is not an outward showing of false humility nor self pity for wrong doing.  Denying flesh is simple being obedient to God and learning more about the truth.
1Peter 1:14-16 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
1Co 10:2 3 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Day 66

Day 66
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:

There is a great difference between holy and unholy.  The Lord’s instructions to Aaron were to make it visible to the people.   First, Aaron was to do it by example by not drinking wine or strong drink.  Second, Aaron was to do it by teaching the truths of God’s word to the people.  The approach should be “do as I do and do as God says”

Lev 10:8-11 And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying,
Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:
And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.

Our focus in serving the Lord is always about Him and others.  Our worship is also about the Lord and others, never about us.  How are you approaching today? For Him or For Yourself?
1Co 10:20-24 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.
Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.

Day 65

Day 65
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:

From the surface, one person’s religious act may look like the real thing but in the end God judges and it is clear to all.  However, to the ones who are attempting a religious service with out listening to God’s instructions or just ignoring God’s instructions have no excuse or defense for their act.  Sincerity is not a defense.

Lev 9:22-24 And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings.
And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the people.
And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.
Lev 10:1-3 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.
And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

We need to be diligent to seek the Lord first and His direction in our worship before we just venture out with what we think is a good idea.  The Lord will judge our worship.  This judgment could be one of judging for a reward or judging for rebuke.

James 4:16-17 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Day 64

Day 64
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
Thanksgiving is easy when there is peace.  The sacrifice of peace offering is given with thanksgiving when life is difficult.  This is greatly illustrated by Elijah and the widow woman and her son.

Lev 7:11-13 And this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he shall offer unto the LORD.
If he offer it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mingled with oil, of fine flour, fried.
Besides the cakes, he shall offer for his offering leavened bread with the sacrifice of thanksgiving of his peace offerings.
1Ki 17:13-16 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.
And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

No matter what your day brings, give thanks.  Peaceful living begins with the sacrifice of self to the lovingness of God and His provision in all things.  We can give thanks for all things.

Eph 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Day 63

Day 63:

Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
The burnt offering was to be set and never allowed to go out.  The payment for sin must be eternal as the offence of any sin is to the level of eternal.  Sin is Serious.

Lev 6:8-13 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt offering: It is the burnt offering, because of the burning upon the altar all night unto the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be burning in it.
And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen breeches shall he put upon his flesh, and take up the ashes which the fire hath consumed with the burnt offering on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar.
And he shall put off his garments, and put on other garments, and carry forth the ashes without the camp unto a clean place.
And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings.
The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.

The offering to pay for sin must be eternal but in great contrast the result of final payment is eternal life.   God is so Good.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Day 62

Day 62
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
When we steal, lie, deceive, become violent to gain something for yourself at the loss of another, we just became indebted to God.  The word trespass here deals with idea of making yourself in debt to those who you took from but also to God.  Because God is the provider of all we need.  There is no need for us to gain things for ourselves but trust God.

Lev 6:1-2 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour;
Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein:
Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,
Or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering.
And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, a ram without blemish out of the flock, with thy estimation, for a trespass offering, unto the priest:
And the priest shall make an atonement for him before the LORD: and it shall be forgiven him for any thing of all that he hath done in trespassing therein.

Every good gift comes from God.  We do not need to obtain anything by sin.  We need to beware of our fleshly desires.  What do you need?  God will provide.

James 1:13-14 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Do not err, my beloved brethren.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
