Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
God IS. All throughout the process God brought plagues to
reveal to all the LORD He is GOD. This is not only the first commandment
but also a statement of fact. The LORD is the only true GOD and there are
no others. So we can not actually have another god before Him as they do
not exist.
Exodus 20:2-3 I am the LORD thy God, which have
brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in
your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical
ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important
to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.
The Commandments are not about do’s and don’ts but a love
for the Lord and love for others. The law is not about offerings and
sacrifices. We serve the Lord because of who He is.
Mark 12:29-33 And Jesus answered him, The first of all
the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and
with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is
the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said
the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
And to love him with all the heart, and with all the
understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his
neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
