Day 100

Day 100
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
Why do you do what you do? In your personal relationship with Christ or in your public worship in the church, you need to know why you do what you do. If you were to define your Christian life, how would you do it? Would you define it by what you do or by stating what you believe? In the Bible, James shows that you must do both.

James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

To define the faith side I would like to show that our faith is in the absolute truths of God’s Word. For the discussion, we will use the term “principle” for what we believe by faith - the absolute truths of God’s Word. We will use the term “practical” to define what we do - our works. The daily blog this year is designed to show principles and practical’s of life.   Our day needs to be filled with Biblical principles and practical actions that do not violate these principles. What I have found over a number of years of ministry is that people do not know why they do what they do, neither do they know why they believe what they believe. I hope this exercise will help provoke thought.

Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.

What are you doing today to find the truth’s from God’s Word and applying them?

Day 99

Day 99
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
God is alone in who He is. All others with any position in life is subject to Him. He is not looking for any reward from anyone.  But the Lord shows love for all, including stranger, which we are to take as an example in life.

Deut 10:17-19 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.
Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Find a way to do the simplest thing for the least of those around you. Reward whether now or eternal will follow.

Mark 9:41-42 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

Day 98

Day 98
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
Truth: God gives Grace because of who He is.  We should be careful not to think it is given to us because we are “good”.  We should be careful not to think it is not given to others because they are “not good”.  God blessed the people of Israel because God is truthful in His promises.  God gives grace because of His promise to do so for those who turn to Him by faith.

Deut 9:4-5 Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the LORD thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD doth drive them out from before thee.
Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

God’s mercy is great and His grace is sufficient for all who by faith believe in Him.

Ephians 2:4-9 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Day 97

Day 97
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
God always gives the victory.  We benefit from the victory when we don’t get ahead of God.  God promises to go before the people and destroy the enemy.  Then God gives instruction to destroy the enemy quickly.  Truth: God has given victory, we must apply it to our life by being obedient to His commands.

Deut 9:1-3 Hear, O Israel: Thou art to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than thyself, cities great and fenced up to heaven,
A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom thou knowest, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak!
Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.

God gives victory, We are to abound in the Lord and labor.  The work will not be in vain.

1Corinthians 15:57-58 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
