Day 61

Day 61
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
Knowing of someone’s sin and not revealing it, the Scriptures show that you will be apart of that sin.  This also requires a sacrifice for that sin.  The same sin offering is demanded for this as for the one who actually performed the sin.

Lev 5:1-5 And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; if he do not utter it, then he shall bear his iniquity.
Or if a soul touch any unclean thing, whether it be a carcase of an unclean beast, or a carcase of unclean cattle, or the carcase of unclean creeping things, and if it be hidden from him; he also shall be unclean, and guilty.
Or if he touch the uncleanness of man, whatsoever uncleanness it be that a man shall be defiled withal, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty.
Or if a soul swear, pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever it be that a man shall pronounce with an oath, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these.
And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing:
Lev 5:12-13 Then shall he bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it, even a memorial thereof, and burn it on the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: it is a sin offering.
And the priest shall make an atonement for him as touching his sin that he hath sinned in one of these, and it shall be forgiven him: and the remnant shall be the priest's, as a meat offering.

Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.

We are not to see sin of others as none of our business.  Neither should be view it as us being judges of others.  The Bible is clear that we are not to close our eyes to sin.
Gal 6:1-2 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

The famous verse for not judging is actually the best verse to show we need to help each other out because it actually fulfills the OT law above.  We do judge others because it demands us to confess our sins by getting the beam out of our eye so that we can address the mote sin in theirs.  The Scripture here does give a warning as well.  If you get the beam out of your eye and proceed to help others; some may reject your help.  These people may just want to wallow in the mud.  From those people once we have initially tried to help we need to then just walk away.

Mat 7:1-6 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Day 60

Day 60
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:

Not knowing what you did was a sin in not excuses.  Sin must be followed by death to pay for the sin.  The picture in this passage is to show that there is a sacrifice to deal with our sins.
Lev 4:1-4 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:
If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering.
And he shall bring the bullock unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD; and shall lay his hand upon the bullock's head, and kill the bullock before the LORD.

We may say we do not know what we are doing is a sin, however if we pay attention that what we are doing is not righteous, then it is sin.  We are told to be holy and to do all things by faith.
1Jo 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin…
Rom 14:23 …for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Day 59

Day 59
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
Moses could not enter the tabernacle because God’s glory filled it. But when the glory moved the people and followed.
Exodus 40:34-38 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:
But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.
For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

Many times we pray for God’s presence in the service but we could not truly be present if the Glory of the LORD is.  The real issue is not if the glory of the LORD is in the service but if we going to follow it when it moves.  If we are just excited that the LORD showed up in the service we are missing the point.  Are we willing to follow Him on Monday-Saturday as He moves in our lives?

Day 58

Day 58
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
The Christian walk is not a list of do’s and don’t or a list of thou shalt and thou shalt not’s but if the LORD says “thou shalt” we should!

Exodus 40:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Exodus 40:2 On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.
Exodus 40:3 And thou shalt…
Exodus 40:4 And thou shalt…
Exodus 40:5 And thou shalt…
Exodus 40:6 And thou shalt…
Exodus 40:7 And thou shalt…
Exodus 40:8 And thou shalt…
Exodus 40:9 And thou shalt…
Exodus 40:10 And thou shalt…
Exodus 40:11 And thou shalt…
Exodus 40:12 And thou shalt…
Exodus 40:13 And thou shalt…
Exodus 40:14 And thou shalt…
Exodus 40:15 And thou shalt..
Exodus 40:16 Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he.

Talk about the Love of Jesus and loving one another is left empty if we do not do what God commands us to do.
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

What truth of God’s Word are we not doing, while still saying we love God and others?

Day 57

Day 57
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:

Why do you do what you do? In your personal relationship with Christ or in your public worship in the church, you need to know why you do what you do. If you were to define your Christian life, how would you do it? Would you define it by what you do or by stating what you believe? In the Bible, James shows that you must do both.

James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

To define the faith side I would like to show that our faith is in the absolute truths of God’s Word. For the discussion, we will use the term “principle” for what we believe by faith - the absolute truths of God’s Word. We will use the term “practical” to define what we do - our works. This daily blog is to address the absolute truths in God’s Word and ways we can work to apply those truths by practical means. Our day needs to be filled with Biblical principles and practical actions that do not violate these principles. What I have found over a number of years of ministry is that people do not know why they do what they do, neither do they know why they believe what they believe. I hope this exercise will help provoke thought.

Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.

Today I list some basic things you do everyday and see if there is a Biblical reason for doing it. I will give some examples.

1. Get out of bed each morning
2. Eat breakfast
3. Get dressed for work
4. Go to work
5. Do the job that is given to me by those in authority over me
These are some basic things we do each day; there are many others that you may do. List 10 and ask the question: Is there a Biblical reason why I do these things?

Day 56

Day 56
Biblical Principle- Absolute truth from God's Word

God gives us skills to do the work we do to make a living and expects us to use those skills for the work of the ministry.  Sometimes our offering is stuff, should be good stuff, should be our best stuff.
Exodus 36:1-7 Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded.
And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:
And they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it withal. And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning.
And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work which they made;
And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make.
And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.
For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.

Day 55

Day 55
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
The Lord is merciful, gracious, longsuffering, and full of goodness and truth but the Lord is also justice in judgment.
Exo 34:5-7 And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD.
And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,
Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:

The Lord is merciful and judgmental at the same time and completely right to do so.  Judgement of sin and mercy for sinner.  Not easy for us but the LORD is our example. When we get jealous we get angry and show no mercy.  The Lord is jealous and loves even when administering judgment.
Nah 1:2-3 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
