Biblical principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
When
God gives the victory it is always complete and with the result of true rest.
God
always finishes His work
Joshua 21:43-45, And the Lord
gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and
they possessed it, and dwelt therein. 44And the Lord gave them rest round about,
according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of
all their enemies before them; the Lord
delivered all their enemies into their hand. 45There failed not
ought of any good thing which the Lord
had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.
Practical - Works that apply Biblical principle:
The
ultimate victory is over sin with the result of complete rest in the eternal
life in Christ. God has finished the victory over sin and the result is that we
have eternal life, if we keep His commandment of trusting Christ by faith for
His salvation. We can trust the Lord for this ultimate victory.
1 John 5:3-5, For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments:
and his commandments are not grievous. 4For whatsoever is born of
God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world,
even our faith. 5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that
believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
1 John 5:11, And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal
life, and this life is in his Son.
