Biblical Principles Daily Devotionals Day 133

Why I Believe What I Believe

Day 133
Biblical principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
Several truths to learn:
We do dwell together with ungodly people.
We are commanded not to be of the world.
When we become of the world we forget the Lord.
God’s anger is always righteous to restore His people.
When God’s people confess their sin and cry to God for mercy, He gives it.
Rest of God is given to His people, however, it is not guaranteed to the next generation as they have to go back to the top of this list of truths and learn from them to not follow the pattern.
Unfortunately, the children of Israel, generation after generation, has to go through this list again and again because they would not trust the truth that was given to them, or perhaps the people failed to follow Moses’ instructions to teach the next generation the truths of God’s Word.
Judges 3:5-11, And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites: 6And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods. 7And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgat the Lord their God, and served Baalim and the groves. 8Therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years. 9And when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother. 10And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the Lord delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushanrishathaim. 11And the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.
Practical - Works that apply Biblical principle:
Our trust in God makes all the difference on how our life on this earth will be seen. What may seem to us as the needed thing to function daily in this world is deceiving. Serve Him in all aspects of life and that which is needed will be made available to us.
1 Timothy 6:17-19, Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 18That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 19Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
