Biblical Principles Daily Devotionals Day 20

Why I Believe What I Believe

Day 20
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
Esau reveals that even though some are brought up in a home that serves the Lord unless it is personal it only leads to going farther in the world.

Gen 28:8-9 And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father;
Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife.

Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:

This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.

The problem in not the “things of the world”.  The problem is loving the things of the world.  God has the things in this world for us to use for His glory, not ours.
1John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
      For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
      And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
