Why Do I Believe What I Believe
Day 16
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
Just because someone who is worldly and evils prospers does
not mean that God is not in control. God allowed His descendants to become
prosperous with possessions. When this is the ultimate goal in life, it ends
with death. When we are blessed with eternal blessing as Isaac was, then the
blessings in life never end.
Gen 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I
have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him
exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in
your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical
ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important
to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.
The Bible does not teach having possessions on earth is
wrong, but is asks us where is our heart regarding these things. What is your
treasure? I have things that I need to function in my day to day life, but I do
not count them as my treasure.
Matthew 6:19-21 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon
earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and
steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor
rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For
where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Philippians 3:4-10 Though I might also have confidence in
the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the
flesh, I more: 5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of
the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a
Pharisee; 6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness
which is in the law, blameless. 7 But what things were gain to me, those I
counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but
loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I
have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I
may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which
is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness
which is of God by faith: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his
resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto
his death;
