Biblical Principles Daily Devotional Day 15

Why I Believe What I Believe

Day 15
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
God is creator of all things and knows all things. This includes what people will be when they are grown. However, this does not mean God makes people be who they are. Ishmael was going to be a wild man because of the choices God knew he would make, not because He doomed him to be wild.

Gen 16:12-15 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. 13 And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me? 14 Wherefore the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered. 15 And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.

Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.

When dealing with people, we must remember that what is in a man will come out of him. It is not that God pre-ordered people to be evil. It is that God knows that evil comes out of an evil person. What needs to change is what is in a person. That change can only come by that person accepting God’s plan of salvation which changes what is in the person.

Matthew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
