Why I Believe What I Believe
Day 13
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
God has people serving and worshiping Him in places other
than where we are. We are not alone. Abraham traveled from where God called him
from and when he arrived, he found another. Melchizedek was referred to as the
priest of the most high God.
Genesis 14:18-20 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth
bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. 19 And he
blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor
of heaven and earth: 20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered
thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in
your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical
ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important
to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.
We tend to think we are “it” when it comes to our circles of
Christianity. We are proud to identity ourselves with one group or leader in
contrast to another. The Bible calls that carnal.
1Corinthians 3:4-10 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and
another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? 5 Who then is Paul, and who
is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to
every man? 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So
then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God
that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one:
and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For
we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's
building. 10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise
masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But
let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
What criteria do you use to identify yourself with a circle
of Christianity?
