Why I Believe What I Believe
Day 156
Biblical principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word
The
Spirit of the Lord was placed on David to do the work of the Lord. The Spirit
of the Lord was taken from Saul leaving Saul with an “evil spirit” and a “troubled”
spirit. Without God’s presence, our mind will run to evil thoughts and fear of
not knowing will always bring trouble.
1 Samuel 16:13-14, Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the
midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord
came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah. 14But
the Spirit of the Lord departed
from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord
troubled him.
Practical - Works that apply Biblical principle:
God
is love. This is evident when He dwells in us because there is not fear and an evil
spirit. Saul did not obey therefore no love… evil spirit. David obeyed the
Lord, which showed love, and God’s Spirit was upon him. What kind of spirit do
you have?
1 John 4:16-19, And we have known and believed the love that God hath to
us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17Herein
is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment:
because as he is, so are we in this world. 18There is no fear in
love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that
feareth is not made perfect in love. 19We love him, because he first
loved us.
John 14:23, Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him,
and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
