Why I Believe What I Believe
Day 155
Biblical principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
The
Lord promised Samuel that He was looking for a king that was after His heart. It
should have not come as a surprise to Samuel when the Lord said He was looking
at the heart. The heart of humility, love, compassion, and obedience was in
David’s heart, a direct contrast to Saul.
1 Samuel
16:7, But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look
not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused
him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward
appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
Practical - Works that apply Biblical principle:
Truth,
grace, mercy, and peace is always God’s
plan. Walk in truth, love others; this is what the Lord is still looking for in
leaders.
2 John 1:2-6, For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be
with us for ever. 3Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the
Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and
love. 4I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in
truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. 5And now I
beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that
which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 6And this
is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as
ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
