Why I Believe What I Believe
Day 119
Biblical principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
Today
we are to set ourselves apart from the world and set ourselves to the Lord. Tomorrow
the Lord will do wonders. If we wait for the Lord to do wonders before we
decide to set ourselves apart we will never see the Lord do wonders.
Joshua 3:5, And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for
to morrow the LORD will do wonders among you.
Practical - Works that apply Biblical principle:
The
idea given in this verse is all about knowing that the Lord provides all. The
provision from the Lord includes whether or not we will even be here tomorrow. Therefore,
we should not be concerned about tomorrow as we are not promised another day. In
the event we will be here tomorrow, we are to seek the Lord, i.e. set ourselves
apart for the Lord, and then the Lord will do great things tomorrow.
Matthew 6:31-34, Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or,
What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32(For
after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth
that ye have need of all these things. 33But seek ye first the
kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto
you. 34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow
shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the
evil thereof.
