Why I Believe What I Believe
Day 77
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
Walking and worshiping being Spirit lead, requires
worshiping in spirit and in truth. Those things are eternal not seen or
understood by physical things. But God tells to build reminders that we can
see. Some times these are alters of stone and sometimes it is an
attachment to clothing. Those who worship these items miss the point of
the items. These are to remind us the the LORD our God brought us out.
Num 15:37-41 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they
make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their
generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of
blue:
And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon
it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye
seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a
whoring:
That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be
holy unto your God.
I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the
land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God.
Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in
your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical
ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important
to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.
Having items in your home or hanging on your neck does make
your spiritual. Having worldly items in your home however does tend to
lead us to worldly thinking. The practical here does not make you
spiritual or worldly. This is where some go wrong. “Throw out your
tv” “internet is evil” all are statements that may be needed for
some who are drawn to evil instead of Christ. However, pictures of Jesus,
wearing a cross necklace or having a huge family Bible does not make you a
great Christian. But, what do you have on purpose that will remind
you that the LORD is GOD.
Jud 1:4-5 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who
were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the
grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our
Lord Jesus Christ.
I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew
this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt,
afterward destroyed them that believed not.
