Why I Believe What I Believe
Day 69
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
On purpose we are told to sanctify ourselves. This
implies that we are to set our selves apart from things that would draw our
flesh away from the truth of God. We are also instructed then to be
holy. This implies that we should surrender our spirit to God’s spirit,
the Spirit filled life. We are told to do this because of who the Lord
Is. Then and only then can we do what God has told us to do. Then
the Lord does something great… he reminds us that the LORD himself does a work
of sanctification on us. He is doing a work that sometimes we don’t see
but we would not be able to do our part if He didn’t do His.
Lev 20:7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for
I am the LORD your God.
Lev 20:8 And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am
the LORD which sanctify you.
Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in
your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical
ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important
to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.
What are you doing today to surrender to God?
What are you doing today to fight the flesh and the world to
prevent conforming to it?
What are you doing to affect your way of thinking that draws
us to God by a transformation process?
What is good, acceptable, perfect will of God? Do you
know?
Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies
of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto
God, which is your reasonable service.
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that
good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
