Why I Believe What I Believe
Day 23:
Biblical Principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
It is possible to be in a place where the Lord is and not
know it; including Bethel ( house of God. We need to be careful not to
miss seeing the Lord.
Gen 28:16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said,
Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not. Gen 28:19 And he
called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called
Luz at the first.
Practical - Works that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in
your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical
ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important
to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.
We can be in church hearing the preaching of the Word of God
and not see the Lord. We should be careful not to miss what the Lord is
doing but just being a hearer of the Word of God.
Jam 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only,
deceiving your own selves.
Jam 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer,
he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
Jam 1:24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and
straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
Jam 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty,
and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of
the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Jam 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and
bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is
vain.
