Day 161
Biblical Principle -
Absolute truth from God’s Word:
Under no circumstance should man try to overthrow God’s
anointed authorities.
Even when God has already told you that one day, you will be
in that place of authority.
Even when the one in authority is trying to kill you do not
touch. Let God take care of His business
and His time table.
1Samuel 19:1 And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all
his servants, that they should kill David.
1Samuel 19:4-10 And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul
his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant,
against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have
been to thee-ward very good:
For he did put his life in his
hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all
Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice: wherefore then wilt thou sin
against innocent blood, to slay David without acause?
And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan:
and Saul sware, As the LORD liveth, he shall not be slain.
And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan shewed
him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his
presence, as in times past.
And there was war again: and David went out,
and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter; and they
fled from him.
And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon
Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played
with his hand.
And Saul sought to smite David even to the
wall with the javelin: but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, and he smote
the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.
1Samuel 20:32-33 And Jonathan
answered Saul his father, and said unto him, Wherefore shall he be slain? what
hath he done?
And Saul cast a javelin at him to
smite him: whereby Jonathan knew that it was determined of his father to slay
David.
1Sa 24:1-20 And it came to pass,
when Saul was returned from following the Philistines, that it was told him,
saying, Behold, David is in the wilderness of Engedi.
Then Saul took three thousand
chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seek David and his men upon the rocks
of the wild goats.
And he came to the sheepcotes by
the way, where was a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet: and David
and his men remained in the sides of the cave.
And the men of David said unto him,
Behold the day of which the LORD said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine
enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto
thee. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul's robe privily.
And it came to pass afterward, that
David's heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul's skirt.
And he said unto his men, The LORD
forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD's anointed, to
stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the
LORD.
So David stayed his servants with
these words, and suffered them not to rise against Saul. But Saul rose up out
of the cave, and went on his way.
David also arose afterward, and
went out of the cave, and cried after Saul, saying, My lord the king. And when
Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed
himself.
And David said to Saul, Wherefore
hearest thou men's words, saying, Behold, David seeketh thy hurt?
Behold, this day thine eyes have
seen how that the LORD had delivered thee to day into mine hand in the cave:
and some bade me kill thee: but mine eye spared thee; and
I said, I will not put forth mine hand against my lord; for he is the
LORD's anointed.
Moreover, my father, see, yea, see
the skirt of thy robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe,
and killed thee not, know thou and see that there is neither evil nor
transgression in mine hand, and I have not sinned against thee; yet thou
huntest my soul to take it.
The LORD judge between me and thee,
and the LORD avenge me of thee: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.
As saith the proverb of the
ancients, Wickedness proceedeth from the wicked: but mine hand shall not be
upon thee.
After whom is the king of Israel
come out? after whom dost thou pursue? after a dead dog, after a flea.
The LORD therefore be judge, and
judge between me and thee, and see, and plead my cause, and deliver me out of
thine hand.
And it came to pass, when David had
made an end of speaking these words unto Saul, that Saul said, Is this
thy voice, my son David? And Saul lifted up his voice, and wept.
And he said to David, Thou art
more righteous than I: for thou hast rewarded me good, whereas I have rewarded
thee evil.
And thou hast shewed this day how
that thou hast dealt well with me: forasmuch as when the LORD had delivered me
into thine hand, thou killedst me not.
For if a man find his enemy, will
he let him go well away? wherefore the LORD reward thee good for that thou hast
done unto me this day.
And now, behold, I know well that
thou shalt surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established
in thine hand.
Practical - Works
that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in
your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical
ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important
to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.
If we would spend more time praying for those in authorities
we would spend less time running them down and undermining God’s plan of
getting the gospel out.
1Timothy 2:1-4 I exhort therefore, that, first of all,
supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for
all men;
For kings, and for all that are in
authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and
honesty.
For this is good and acceptable in the
sight of God our Saviour;
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come
unto the knowledge of the truth.
