Day 160
Biblical Principle -
Absolute truth from God’s Word:
God’s servants obey God no matter who the king is or even if
the king is trying to kill you. We need
to act as a servant with wisdom. To
behave wisely means to always see the big picture of God’s plan never looking
at the immediate.
1Samuel 18:5-12 And David went out whithersoever Saul sent
him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war,
and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of
Saul's servants.
1Sa 18:6 And it came to pass as they came, when David was
returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all
cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with
joy, and with instruments of musick.
1Sa 18:7 And the women answered one another as they
played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.
1Sa 18:8 And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased
him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they
have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the
kingdom?
1Sa 18:9 And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.
1Sa 18:10 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil
spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house:
and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a
javelin in Saul's hand.
1Sa 18:11 And Saul cast the javelin; for he said, I will
smite David even to the wall with it. And David avoided out of his
presence twice.
1Sa 18:12 And Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was
with him, and was departed from Saul.
Practical - Works
that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in
your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical
ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important
to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.
Being a servant is all about knowing that the Lord has all
the answers to the big picture and all the understanding comes from
following Him and not man’s enticing
words.
Colossians 2:1-4 For I would that ye knew what great
conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as
many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
That their hearts might be comforted, being
knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of
understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father,
and of Christ;
In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom
and knowledge.
And this I say, lest any man should beguile
you with enticing words.
