Why I Believe What I Believed
Day 93
Biblical principle - Absolute truth from God’s Word:
Truth:
All parts of truth must be followed or none matters.
Step 1: Keep His commandments
Step 2: Teach the commandments to your children
Step 3: Forget Not the Lord when everything goes your way.
Deuteronomy 6:5-12, And thou shalt love the Lord
thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6And
these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7And
thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when
thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou
liest down, and when thou risest up. 8And thou shalt bind them for a
sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9And
thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. 10And
it shall be, when the Lord thy God
shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to
Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which
thou buildedst not, 11And houses full of all good things, which thou
filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive
trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full; 12Then
beware lest thou forget the Lord,
which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
Practical - Works that apply Biblical principle:
Following
all the laws and telling everyone around you what they are does not help if you
forget that all this is about the Lord, not how much you do. The leaven of the
Pharisees is the religious acts with the tiny sin of pride.
Matthew 16:4-12, A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign;
and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas.
And he left them, and departed. 5And when his disciples were come to
the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. 6Then Jesus said
unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the
Sadducees. 7And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is
because we have taken no bread. 8Which when Jesus perceived, he said
unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have
brought no bread? 9Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the
five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? 10Neither
the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? 11How
is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread,
that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? 12Then
understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of
the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
