Day 147
Biblical Principle -
Absolute truth from God’s Word:
God’s presents is not known by those who are not truly
serving Him. The children of Israel
thought that as long as they had the ark they would have victory because of
IT. The enemy knows that what they were
fearing was that God was in the camp. When
they realized that God was not there, they fought and won.
1Sa 4:1-11 And the word of Samuel came to all Israel. Now
Israel went out against the Philistines to battle, and pitched beside Ebenezer:
and the Philistines pitched in Aphek.
And the Philistines put themselves
in array against Israel: and when they joined battle, Israel was smitten before
the Philistines: and they slew of the army in the field about four thousand
men.
And when the people were come into
the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the LORD smitten us to day
before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of
Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh
among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.
So the people sent to Shiloh, that
they might bring from thence the ark of the covenant of the LORD of hosts,
which dwelleth between the cherubims: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni
and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
And when the ark of the covenant of
the LORD came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the
earth rang again.
And when the Philistines heard the
noise of the shout, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great
shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood that the ark of the LORD
was come into the camp.
And the Philistines were afraid,
for they said, God is come into the camp.
And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore.
Woe unto us! who shall deliver us
out of the hand of these mighty Gods? these are the Gods that smote the
Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness.
Be strong and quit yourselves like
men, O ye Philistines, that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have
been to you: quit yourselves like men, and fight.
And the Philistines fought, and Israel was smitten, and they fled
every man into his tent: and there was a very great slaughter; for there fell
of Israel thirty thousand footmen.
And the ark of God was taken; and
the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain.
Practical - Works
that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in
your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical
ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important
to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.
The victory is in the Lord.
The battle is against an enemy that knows that God is greater than
them. The task of given to us is to use
the armor that begins with all pieces attached to the truth. It is not an object we get victory from but
God himself. The enemy is not afraid of
you if God is not there. Be sure to make
sure God is there with you.
Ephesians 6:10-20 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the
Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh
and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of
the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole
armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having
done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins
girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of
faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and
supplication for all saints;
And for me, that utterance may be
given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of
the gospel,
For which I am an ambassador in
bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
