Day 74
Biblical Principle -
Absolute truth from God’s Word:
God sent the spies in to reveal back to the people that God
was telling the truth about the promise land.
When asked to see if the people were “strong” or “weak” was not intended
for them to determine whether they can defeat them. God already promised them the victory. The Hebrew word “strong” is the word that
means stiff necked and rebellious. The
Hebrew word “weak” is the word for feeble of mind and body. God
wanted the children of Israel to the hearts of the people in the land. Later we see that God commands that these
people be destroyed as those who rebelled against God.
Num 13:17-20 And Moses sent them to spy out the land of
Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up
into the mountain:
And see the land, what it is,
and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak,
few or many;
And what the land is that
they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be
that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;
And what the land is,
whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be
ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was
the time of the firstripe grapes.
Practical - Works
that apply Biblical Principle:
This section is for you to find a way to apply the truth in
your life. I will try to give only one as example; there may be other practical
ways. This is what makes the Christian walk so important and makes it important
to have a deliberate purpose in everything we do.
We get the victory by faith.
We defeat the enemy by God’s power not our own.
Heb 11:33-35 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought
righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.
Quenched the violence of fire,
escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant
in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
Women received their dead raised to
life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they
might obtain a better resurrection:
Heb 11:29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry
land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
When there is no victory there is no faith. Notice that
between these two verses there is not hall of faith because those who wondered
in the wilderness because of unbelief did not live by faith.
Heb 11:30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after
they were compassed about seven days.
